Click on image to see video of some of the great things we did for Ryan’s 10th Birthday. Thank you for celebrating Ryan’s 10th birthday with us and honouring his legacy. Together we made a difference in the lives of pediatric cancer patients. With your support, we raised just over $20,000 for Hospital at Home at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and brought in 40 blood donations for the Canadian Blood Services. Your generosity helps Ryan to continue to do good work here on Earth and is so appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

This year we are celebrating Ryan’s 10th birthday by focusing on giving back and being kind.

These are just a few of the qualities that Ryan demonstrated at a very young age. Because of Ryan, our family and team are determined to make a positive difference in this world. Ryan lost his battle with neuroblastoma cancer at the tender age of 7, but he won a war. He inspired us to do better for pediatric cancer patients and to find joy in difficult times.

Here are two ways to help us celebrate Ryan’s 10th birthday and honour his legacy:

Goal #1: 100 Blood Donations
Due to Ryan’s cancer treatments, he often required hemoglobin and platelet transfusions. These transfusions gave our family more time with our precious son. Please donate blood in honour of Ryan and support the Ryan Chen Memorial Foundation Fund to reach our goal of 100 blood donations between May 19th, 2021 to May 29th, 2021 at Canadian Blood Services. If you have had a covid vaccination, you can still donate blood.

To join the In Honour of Ryan Team:

i) Register online at https://www.blood.ca or download the GiveBlood App, or by calling 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283).
ii) Log into or create your account.
iii) Select PFL ORGANIZATIONS from the menu. Add our Team Name: In Honour of Ryan or (INHO0093803), so we can track our goal.

Goal #2: Hospital at Home Visits
Some oncology patients require chemotherapy several times a week, and Hospital at Home allows children to receive these treatments in the comfort of their own home from a specialized oncology nurse.  Ryan’s participation in this program allowed our family a small bit of normalcy during a very trying time while he was battling neuroblastoma cancer.  Each visit from a nurse in this program costs approximately $300.

Help us raise funds for this worthy program. Together we can make a difference in the lives of pediatric cancer patients by donating to the Ryan Chen Memorial Foundation Fund at: https://payment.csfm.com/donations/calgaryfoundation/?fund=CHENR
