A special thank you to the Calgary Rangers Soccer Club and the soccer community for remembering our Ryan. The Calgary team marked the end of their indoor season in March of 2019 with a special fundraiser for the Ryan Chen Memorial Foundation Fund.
In 2017, 6 brave cancer fighters including Ryan were honoured during the Flames Fights Cancer event. Aidan was only 3 years old then, so we stayed at home and watched the event on TV. Tears were streaming down my face because I was so incredibly proud of Ryan. Aidan didn’t understand the magnitude of how I was feeling, but I remember him crawling into my lap wiping my tears and assuring me that Ryan will be ok. What a special memory to have and we are forever grateful to the Calgary Flames and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation for giving Ryan this opportunity of a lifetime and this precious memory for our family.
